VP of Sales (Location Flexible, Midwest/West Regional Accountability)

This is an individual contributor sales role (virtual/home office based), with a desired coverage area of Mid-West and West Coast pharma and biotech. This is a key position and as one of the first sales people hired by the company, this role has tremendous growth potential within the organization. With that said, the Sales professional will lead the growth and development of their region. (S)he will play a key role within the company, having responsibility for developing new partnerships with major brands and analytics functions within pharmaceutical manufacturers. S/he will drive the entire sales cycle from prospecting into companies, to securing meetings with senior-level decision-makers. (S)he will take the account through a needs analysis, develop and present our solutions and then will be tasked with closing the sale. This position is focused on new business development, and the cultivation and growth of such accounts after they have been penetrated. As a business builder and leader within the company, the VP will be a key member of IPM.ai’s growing team.

Ideal Candidates:

10 years of outside sales experience calling directly on pharmaceutical brands/analytics functions with a proven track record of success meeting and exceeding annual sales/revenue targets.

  • Conversant in pharmaceutical secondary data assets and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Experience calling on brands, analytics functions, and leadership teams at any level of a pharma organization.
  • Digital channel experience a plus.
  • Hunter who excels in developing new business accounts.
  • Brings in own contacts and book of business and responsible for own lead generation.
  • Comfort negotiating MSAs, SOWs, and managing invoicing logistics.
  • Expertise in developing senior-level, trust and performance-based relationships by identifying products/services and sell opportunities that best meet client’s needs.
  • Passionate about selling and creating value for customers.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for maintenance of opportunities, lead and account updates.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
  • High level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with superior organizational logistics, and time management skills.

Compensation Package:

  • Generous Salary & Performance-based commission commensurate with experience plus equity

Client Engagement Director

The Company

The Position:

Given the developmental state of the company, the role will encompass both external, client-facing responsibilities as well as internal coordination responsibilities. Conceptually, this role will be ‘bridge’ between sales and delivery—translating sold engagements to the operations team for execution, managing ongoing project delivery and ‘evolving’ client expectations, maintaining proactive and consistent communication across client and delivery teams, supporting the sales force via strategic ideation on qualified opportunities, as well as translation into sales support specifications and subsequent development of delivery-related presentations. Therefore, a seasoned understanding of the evolving pharmaceutical market (precision medicine, value based re-imbursement, patient level data integration, etc.) and client-facing communication skills/language coupled with sound technical capabilities/competency is critical to success. As a leader within the company, the role will be a key member of IPM.ai’s growing team, helping set strategic direction/vision, establishment of sound delivery infrastructure and processes, and building the requisite team as the organization scales.

  • Proactively ensure delivery excellence by ensuring Sales Lead has appropriately scoped proposals, and discussed any nuance with the Sales Lead/client prior to contract execution (i.e prevent “throwing over the fence” to delivery teams)
  • Delivery Management – single point of contract with the following parties: Client, Sales Lead, and Operations team: ongoing and consistent communication with all parties critical for delivery success
  • Create and maintain delivery timelines in conjunction with above parties
  • Ability to derive insight and create PPT story from secondary claims data (experience with ML/AI preferred); comfort delivering presentation to brand/analytics teams within pharma organizations
  • Maintain appropriate scope for ongoing client engagements and follow-ups 

Ideal Candidates:

10+ years of experience in claims-based secondary analytics consulting business:

  • Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical secondary (claims) data assets and conversant in advanced analytics solutions (AI/ML engagements preferred).
  • Experience working directly with brands, analytics functions, and leadership teams at any level of a pharma organization.
  • Possesses clinical/therapeutic area context to blend with knowledge of secondary data assets
  • Digital channel experience a plus.
  • Equally comfortable working in hands-on execution mode combined with ability to delegate and lead
  • Ability to travel 20% (regionally) to support client engagements and office-based working sessions
  • High level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with superior organizational logistics, and time management skills.
  • Works well in a fast paced, ever changing environment- startups are fun but aren’t for everyone!!

Compensation Package:

  • Generous Salary & Performance-based commission commensurate with experience plus (equity available for right candidate)
